Anne Frank

by Audrey

You think that you're claustrophobic? Well Anne Frank, here, spent two years in a dirty, small smelly Annex, hiding from the Nazis with seven people and a big cat. She was the second child of Otto and Edith, her sister's name was Margo and her full name was Annelise Marie Frank. Is this interesting? Well keep reading to find out more about Anne Frank.

Childhood. She was born in Frankfurt AM Main, Weimer, Germany. And since her and her sister were Jewish they both had to go to a Jewish school. The school she and her sister went to was called Montessori Lyceum, Amsterdam. Anne Frank and Margo Frank had to quit school when Hitler came into power in 1933. Anne Frank sadly died at the age of fifteen of a disease called typhus. Typhus is a bacterial disease spread by fleas and lice. Anne Frank and her mother did not get along very well, She was definitely a "Daddy's girl."

Major Obstacles/ Accomplishments. Some of Anne Frank's major obstacles in life were...That she had to hide from the Nazis. Margot, Anne Frank's sister, was the first to leave on a bike to go into hiding. The rest of the family left on foot at seven thirty A.M. Another major obstacle in Anne Frank's life was fighting the Typhus disease. She died from that at the age of fifteen early March at a concentration camp called Bergen-Belsen. Her sister also died of typhus at the same camp a little before her. Her mother was sent to Bergen-Belsen also. But her Dad was the only one who survived. Some of Anne Frank's major obstacles in life were that she wrote a diary her dad found after he went back to the annex since he was the only one that survived in the Frank family. And she was also extremely brave because she stood up for things she believed in and did not lean towards evil things.

Hero traits. Anne Frank showed courage when she lived in a secret annex, in her father's office building, where she could never go outside and the windows were covered so the Nazis wouldn't find them. She also had to be quiet and could never talk! Anne lived with seven people and a cat! She had a positive attitude hiding, being quiet all day, every day and living with strangers. Anne Frank was very talkative. She talked a lot at her school. Her teacher yelled at her a lot for talking so much that as punishment her teacher made her write a story about a girl being a chatter box! Those were all of Anne Frank's heroic traits.

Personal connection. I found the story of her interesting hiding from the Nazis. Anne Frank is my hero because she teaches me to never give up and keep going. Anne Frank has been called the "human face of the Holocaust" because she kept a diary hidden for twenty five months! And personally, I think that that is amazing! When I compare and contrast I find that we are both goofy and we both talk A LOT! And when I contrast with her I find that she's Jewish and I'm not and she had to hide from the Nazis.
