Angelina was born on June 4, 1975. She is a successful actress and performs in groundbreaking movies. While filming the movie Tomb Raider, she realized and was aware of the worldwide humanitarian crisis. She asked UNHCR for more information about the troubled places around the world. Later, she went to refugee camps around the world to discover more about the problems and living conditions in those areas. She went on her field day which was an 18-day mission at Sierra Leone and Tanzania on February 2001. Later, she was shocked at what she had seen.

Months later she met with Afghan refugees in Pakistan. She donated $1 million for Afghan refugees in response to a UNHCR international emergency. Angelina wanted to cover all the costs of her mission. She was awarded the honor Khanum Sahiba the equivalent of being made a lady. On August 27, 2001 at UNHCR headquarters in Geneva, Angelina was named UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. Jolie has been on many field missions and met refugees in more than 20 countries. She donated money to many foundations. Angelina donated $500,000 to National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children, $1 million to Global Action for Children, and $1 million to Doctors Without Borders.

She is my hero because she helped children like us and everyone else in the world. Even though she has a successful career and is busy most of the time, she still is caring about the troubled places internationally. Jolie makes the lives of immigrants and refugees better. Angelina cares for all people even if she doesn’t know them.
