I am sure that not many people did hear about Moldova. In spite of this fact my country is the nest of a great number of talented personalities. One of them is Alexey Viktorovich Shchusev - a veritable architect and a hero of the 19th century. His name is well known in the world, but few people know that he was born on October 8th in 1873 in Chisinau, Moldova .

I considerate him a hero because he was an intelligent representative of that period, a fusion of talent and creativity. He was a bright student of The Imperial Academy of Arts in 1891-1897. The travels in The North Africa and The Central Asia enriched his vision of the perception of the world.

Alexey Victorovich became famous with the reconstruction of the 12th century of The St. Basil Church in Ovruch, Ukraine. He designed The Trinity Cathedral in Pochayiv Lavra and a memorial church on the Kulikovo Field. His the most wide-scaled project in 1913 was the design of The Kazan Railway Station of The Moscow Terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway. This building in one of the most imaginative Revivalist designs. I admired myself this masterpiece when I travelled to Moscow with my family. When a simply person has too much success in his carrier appeared envious people. Alexey Viktorovich Shchusev was not an exception. He was accused by imitating some projects which weren't authentic .

After this accident the architect came back to Moldova . He lived here until his death on May 24th in 1949 . After his death , the Russian authorities built a museum in the name of the famous architect , that must be understood as an excuse to Sciusev .

I chose for my hero page Alexey Viktorovich Schusev ,because he is a really genuine of his specialty . For me he is an example.I am proud of him because Schusev was born ,lived and worked in Moldova . Also Schusev was not only an acclaimed Russian architect , he was an historian , philosopher , scientist and an honored member of The Academy of Science of Moldova . I was fashioned that after his scandal whit the Russian government , Schusev didn't loose the self-control and optimism , and with a lot of effort he has recovered his honor . That's why Schusev was , is and will be my hero .
