I chose Angus Young as my hero because he is an inspiring guitarist that I really look up to. He is the lead guitarist of the band AC/DC which is my favorite band. He gets on stage and wins the crowd over with a phenomenal amount of self confidence that he only has when wearing his school boy outfit. He used to be scared of going onstage until he dressed in the school boy outfit. It is his key to unlocking his personality and getting over his stage fright.

Angus Young is a guitarist that has made it up on the Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". He is one of eight kids and became a musician like his older brothers, Malcolm, George, and Alex. In 1973, when he was 18 and his brother Malcolm was 20, he started a band called AC/DC. He and Malcolm were in it together as guitarists. Angus was on lead guitar and Malcolm was on rhythm. The band started in Australia as a hard-rock band. This band has been popular and strong for thirty-five years and also happens to be my favorite band.

Angus Young lives in Sydney, Australia and also has a home in Aalten, Netherlands. He lives with with his wife, Ellen Young, a Dutch woman who he married in 1980 just before Bon Scott's death. However, he has chosen to keep his personal life out of the media so not much is known about what he is up to now.

Angus Young lived from March 31, 1955 to the present day. He is still alive and performing as hard as ever. He is 53 years old but has the energy of a teen. He is currently on a six month world tour with AC/DC and I had the privilege of going to catch the concert in Inglewood, California, on Saturday, December 6, 2008.

Angus Young is a very big hero to me because he is no longer afraid to be himself. He was at first but not anymore thanks to his school boy outfit. Before this, he suffered from stage fright and could not unlock his true potential on stage. Once he slipped into his school boy outfit, he was able to shred on his guitar and get all crazy while performing. He runs around the stage with the energy of a teenage boy. He also lays down while playing his guitar and kicks his legs, making him spin in circles. He has inspired me to pick up a guitar and teach myself to play. He has also inspired me to be myself and not to let what people think get in the way of anything.
