Beverly Cleary

by Rachel from DuBois

I don't necessarily start with the beginning of the book. I just start with the part of the story that's most vivid in my imagination and work forward and backward from there.

In honor of Beverly Bunn Cleary, I did research about this hero in “Biography Today.” I chose Beverly Clearly because she is a great author. After the research, I was glad I did because I learned so much about her.

Who knew such a normal beginning would give the world such a hero? Beverly Cleary was born on April 12, 1916, in McMinnville, Oregon. Her parents are Chester and Mable Bunn.

The foundation of heroism is education. Beverly attended many schools. She attended Fernwood Grammer School, Grant High school, Chaffey Junior College, University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Washington

Hard work contributes to heroism. One of Beverly Cleary’s career highlights was writing Henry Huggins. She said, “Knowing that one’s books really reach young readers is the most rewarding experience that can come to a writer of children’s books.” In her free time, she loves to sew and travel.

Beverly Cleary is important to mankind and changed the world. She is famous for writing books for children and young adults. I think Beverly Cleary is a great author and a hero of mine.
