Yuri Gagarin was a Russian astronaut. He was born on March 9, 1934.
He went to a vocational school when he was young. When he grew up, he went to Saratov College where he learned to fly. When he turned 27, he flew to space. When he was in space, he orbited the Earth. He became the first Russian to orbit the earth. 7 years later, he died at the age of 34 in 1968.
Yuri Gagarin is special to me, because he orbited the Earth when he was only 27 years old. I am mainly impressed because he was the first Russian to orbit the Earth.
His ship was the German V-2. An orbit is the path around the earth, and Yuri Gagarin made a single orbit around the earth in 1968. He was very brave!
