Yanagi Koutaro was born on December 21st 1985 in Berlin, Germany. He grew up in different places such as India, America and now he lives in Japan. He is fluent in both English and Japaneses. His family includes, his mother and his father. Some of his hobbies when he was younger were playing with his friends, and karaoke. Yanagi went to school at an American boarding school, when he was younger he loved to watch musicals which had inspired him to start his own musical career. He had many roles in his musical career such as ryoma echizen in Prince of Tennis.

Yanagi's main influence was his musical group called the D-boys. D-boy is a musical group that performs skits. They had showed him that life is short and you should live it without regret. That one line had inspired Yanagi to perform without any fears. The D-boys are a big influence to Yanagi, some of the cast of the D-boys include: Yuya Endo, he's the group leader, Yuu Shirota, Masato Wada, Masaki kaji , Osamu Adachi, Koji Seto and many others. There is currently 18 D-boys including Yanagi.

One day as Yanagi was returning home from a rehearsal, he was hit by a car. He was unconscious for two weeks. The accident had also messed up his vocals cords, and his movements became slower. This accident had affected him much because he wasn't able to be in many following performances and was unable to be casted in the Prince of Tennis movie. Instead they had replaced him in the musicals with Yuya Endo, and had cast Kanata hongo in the Prince of Tennis movie.

I feel Yanagi is important because even after his accident, he still managed to perform, no matter how much slower he went. He just put his head up high and did his best. I think that many people could be inspired by Yanagi, and could try their best after watching his performances! Even after Yanagi's accident, he was still one of the best performers in the D-boys group, and so that's why they decided he would stay with them and continue to perform.

Yanagi is a hero to me because he still works very hard even after the accident, no matter what happens to him he will get up and perform again. Yanagi is very inspiring to many people and I find him to be inspiring as well. Yanagi is super cool, he's an amazing performer and amazing dancer as well. Even when he was a kid he tried hard everyday in his singing and dance moves. Yanagi is my most favourite performer of ALL time, and I think he does really great in both English and Japanese.
