Zach Bonner was a very brave and persistent little boy who walked across America for a worthy cause that he believes can help the world. This cause was to raise money from sponsors to give to the homeless children of America. Zach Bonner is twelve years old, who, at a very early age, realized that there were many children much less fortunate than him, and he believed that he could start a 2,478-mile walk to raise money for these unfortunate kids.

Zach first started his giving life when he was only six years old, and Hurricane Charlie hit his town of Tampa, Florida, when he had his little red wagon carrying food and water to the families devastated by the hurricane. Zach brought clothing to these families as well, giving him a great start to a great life as someone who will always care for others and strive to help the less fortunate than him. Ever since Zach was six, he’s been helping kids all over America through devastation and homelessness.

At age twelve, Zach started his march across America in Tampa, Florida. His voyage took him through eight states ending in Santa Monica, California. During his last mile on Virginia Avenue, Zach was joined by many other children and by Australian pop artist, Cody Simpson. His last mile was very memorable due to the fact that this little boy walked over 2000 miles just to bring attention to kids on the streets. Zach walked over twenty miles a day, but it is unknown what he was carrying with him, or if he had any of his parents joined him. The best thing that happened to Zach throughout this walk was that Elton John promised Zach $25,000 and also promised him to double that amount to Zach if he made it all the way to San Diego. When Zach made it past San Diego, Elton John donated $50,000 to the children on the streets cause.

Zach is such an inspiration to me because most children of today would not even think of walking across America just to help homeless children. Zach raised a lot of money and donated it all to a worthy cause, unlike others who would have spent that kind of money on something useless, like I would myself. Zach is a philanthropist at a very young age, and that is something that almost all people lack. Zach also is someone who could let out all of his thought better than most adults of today, this meaning that whatever Zach felt, he could tell others more easily that most adults.

After his life-changing walk, Zach was picked from 6000 other kids to have a movie made about him. This movie will be called “Little Red Wagon” as a story about the young Zach Bonner’s life through helping people from his community, all the way to all homeless kids of America today. Zach is truly amazing for he had the guts to make a difference for what he believed in, and is like no other kid in the world today. Zach will grow to do amazing things, and this will definitely not be the last time the world hears about the amazing Zach Bonner.
