Amelia Earhart

Do you know a girl from Kansas who acts like a tomboy? Her name is Amelia Earhart. Amelia Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas, on July 24, 1897. Her parents' names were Edwin Earhart and Amy Earhart. She also had a sister named Muriel Earhart.

Amelia liked throwing mud balls. She liked jumping over fences and playing baseball and football. Amelia and Muriel loved sports, including basketball and tennis. They enjoyed books and often recited poetry while doing their chores.

Her first job was a nurse. Amelia Earhart’s jobs were a nurse and a pilot. Amelia decided to study nursing to help the soldiers that were wounded in the war. She was a volunteer nurse in 1914-1918 during World War I.

Amelia wanted to fly airplanes because she saw a show about stunt planes and liked them. She was the first woman to fly across the Pacific Ocean. She disappeared in the Pacific Ocean. She most likely died in the Pacific Ocean 1937.

She was famous because she was the first woman to have a pilot's license. She was a good person and helped many pilots.
