"You become a writer when you stop writing for yourself and start writing for the reader." Avi
Avi is my hero for many reasons, but let me start with one particular one. He was a failure in school. That may not sound like a hero characteristic, but it is in this case. Avi failed all of his courses in highschool, was sent to a special school and also needed tutoring. Since writing was important to his family, Avi was determined to become an author.
It took Avi several years to finally get published. His first published piece was a play. That was Avi's first job, a playwrite. He didnt get very far though so he became an author of children's books.
I kinda summarized his life story and I hope I didn't bore you to death but you needed to get the picture to understand why he's my hero. It's his determination that moves me. Just the way he never got too discouraged to quit or stop. He never even thought that he might fail even though he was a failure. I wish I could have that determination, but I can't so I'll just settle for admiring it and calling the one that has it my hero.
