Bill Gates

Gates was born in Seattle, Washington on October 28, 1955. His father's name was William H. Gates Sr., his mother's was Mary Maxwell Gates. Gates' father was a lawyer and his mother served as a board of directors for First Interstate BancSystem. His family was an upper middle class family. Gates has two sisters, one elder and one younger. At a young age his parents had a big future in mind for him.

At 12 he went to a regular public school and at 13 he enrolled into a private school. Gates showed a lot of talent the first year, when he created his first computer program. He made a program to help put classes together. He had help from someone who would become a lifetime partner, Paul Allen.

While still in high school Gates and Allen created a traffic monitoring company called Traf-O-Data, which monitored traffic and created patterns that helped The Department of Transportation. Gates was still in school attending Harvard University with intentions of becoming a lawyer like his father. But in his junior year Gates left school to pursue his plans of making his software business bigger. While out of school Allen contacted Gates and told him he found the one thing that would help them. Allen found a computer that had everything except one thing: software. Gates and Allen contacted the company and soon had a contract to put software into their computers. After a while they moved to New Mexico to expand, and they came up with Microsoft. They found a great client called IBM and the money started coming in. From then on Gates and Allen created many different programs such as Excel and Word and others. with all of his success Gates pushed himself to make the software even better.

After all of his success, Gate's net worth is to be 58 billion dollars U.S. Gates is one of the richest people in the world. On January 1,1994 Gates married Melinda Ann French. They now have three kids. Gates is a hero because he gives to programs and charities more than any other person in the world and he helps people all over. He is also recognized as one of the most influencial people of the 20th century. It is said that Gates gives $28 billion to charity. Along with his wife they started the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and in 2007 it was named the second most generous philanthropist in America.
