My definition of a hero is a person that helps people. A hero is also a person who saves someone's life or who makes charities to help other people and animals.

My hero is Abraham Lincoln, 16th president of the United States born February 12, 1809, because he helped the African Americans be free. Abraham Lincoln was President of the United States during the Civil War. He was a very brave man. He stood up for the African Americans because he knew that no one deserved to be treated the way the slaves were treated.

Abraham Lincoln is my hero because if he didn't stop slavery the African slave trade would have continued to the United States.

Abraham Lincoln is also my hero because he was a happy man and he did not think slavery was good at all. He served the whole country because he made life better for all people. He was a strong man. He helped the Union win the Civil War and stopped slavery. He inspires me to treat others the way they want to be treated and to make the world a better place.
