Travis Pastrana is arguably the best motocross rider in the world. He is the holder of the most titles and championship wins of any X Games athlete. But what is more impressive than his skill is his drive and determination to be the best there is. He is my hero because no matter what challenges life has thrown at him he has found a way to overcome them.

Travis Pastrana has done the unthinkable on a motocross bike. He was once quoted as saying "My strengths and weaknesses are the same: I've got the willingness and stupidity to try anything. If I think it's even remotely possible, I'll do it." There have been many times when his willingness and stupidity have had consequences for him. His medical record includes multiple concussions, a broken back, several dislocated shoulders and severe knee problems due to cartilage degeneration. But even though he has sustained such severe injuries, he has always come back on top.

Travis Pastrana is definitely a remarkable person and athlete. He is an inspiration to me because of his will to go on, and his undying passion for the sport. His career has been documented in the film "199 Lives" in reference to the number he always wears in competitions.
