Lou Anne from Lincoln, Nebraska:
My mother is my hero because she not only has given me the
support I needed while growing up, she is also the role model I
would most like to follow through my life...
Amy from Saginaw:
My mom, Alma L. Escalante, is a hero, because she has taught my brother, my sister and me to do the best we can to not only help ourselves, but to also help other people in need.
Melissa from New London Connecticut:
My mother is my hero because she is my mother and father. My
parents have been divorced for almost eleven years. My mother
was the one to teach me values, morals and my beliefs. She
stood by me throughout the toughest times in my life. I love her
for that. That is why she is my hero...
Joe from the States:
To me, my mother, Joanna Park, embodies the idea of a
hero...I don’t know how I can
repay her for everything she’s done for me.
Although sometimes, just a hug and a kiss seem
to be all she needs.
Abbie from Watertown:
My mom, Amy L. Lotz, is there to listen when you need to talk and let it all out. She has told us over and over, how we are her Angels, and how she will help us in every way that she can.
Joseph from Saginaw:
My mother empowers me to do the best I can and achieve my goals. My mom is truly special to me and I wouldn't trade her for the world. So what I'm trying to say is that I really love my mom.
Olinda from Upper Marlboro, Maryland:
...Now that I am a first time mother of a 20
month old I appreciate and understand the hard work that Mom
put into making us five young ladies that she can be proud of.
She is my hero because she is still completely understanding and
still a great listener and adviser when I need mommy advise.
Svannah from Ft. Worth:
My mom is great, pretty & smart. She has always been there for me. She loves me & I love her too. She helps me with problems & gives me answers. I tell her everthing, because I can trust her.
Robyn from Hempstead, NY:
My mother is my hero because she brought me into this world
and i admire her very much. she had three children and put her
husband through law school at the age of 21 and now she has
become a successful business woman. i love her a lot.
Andrew from Newmarket:
My mom, Adrie McEnaney, has strength, faith, courage...I also think
a hero must be loving and caring...
Karen from Connecticut:
My hero is Deborah. For me it is a friend who
has no children but is a high school teacher. She
honors what I do and guides me with her vastly
superior knowledge of teenagers. She commiserates
and has the energy sometimes to deal with my kids
when I am at wits' end. Being a mother is a tough
job and my friend Deborah helps many of us be
better mothers even though she never spent a
minute in a maternity ward.
Leslea from Joplin:
I think that a hero is someone who thinks positively, and expects the best out of a
situation that could be not so good. Responding fast and thinking quick is also something
that is needed to become a hero. Anyone has the potential to be a hero, you just need a
positive attitude and a loving heart......
Geniene from Phoenix, AZ:
My Hero is Karen Brissette. A hero to me is a person that will continue to be there for you, is
spiritual, dedicated, trustworthy, dependable and most of all
positive.
Amzad from Newmarket:
My mom, Angela, is strong in her heart because she cares for people and helps them get better at doing
things...She has faith in me because she believes I could be or do anything if I put my mind to it.
Kat from Joplin:
My Step mom, Brenda, is a hero. She tells me she has a spitfire temper but to this day, I've never seen her mad. When I get
in trouble, she sits me down and firmly yet compassionately tells me what I've done wrong.
The most my mom expects of me besides the normal good grades, washing the dishes, cleaning
my room and picking up after myself is to be a kid. My mom has always been there when I
needed her. She always comes to my school activities and spends time whether it be
snuggling, talking, or just being together with me. I don't know if you'd call my mom a hero
or not but she's definitely mine. I hope and pray that when I'm a mom, I will be as great a
mom as she is. There is not a selfish bone in her body and I know sometimes I almost ask the
impossible but even then she tries to do it for me.
Laila from Ft. Worth:
My Mom has taught me a lot. She taught me to always do my homework, even when I don't feel like it, so I don't fail. She taught me not to
commit any crimes and to never lie...I hope when and if I have kids, I can teach them as well as my mom has
taught me.
Peyton from Alabama:
My hero is my Mother, Valinda Miller...My mother has taught me to trust in
myself no matter what. She has also taught me to be
independent, but that is still O.K. to depend on others when you
need help. My mother is the sweetest most generous person that I know.
