MY HERO is a not-for-profit educational web project that celebrates the best of humanity. Our mission is to inspire people of all ages with an ever-growing Internet archive of hero stories from around the world. MY HERO invites you, your family, school, or organization to take part in this interactive web project. By publicly honoring your hero on this award-winning project, you reward those who have made a difference, and bring new hope to the online global community.

Visit the MY HERO Teacher's Room

Thanks to a grant from the United States Department of Education, MY HERO has been expanding its outreach and education programs. The Teacher's Room includes selected stories, support materials, lesson plans, calendar, and more. We encourage teachers to share their lesson plans and exchange ideas about the ways in which they've integrated MY HERO into their classrooms.

English teacher, Susanne Nobles, shares the MY HERO lesson plans she developed for her high school classroom. Her students at Fredericksburg Academy in Virginia have contributed many inspirational stories to the MY HERO website including:

Libby Riddles was the first woman to win the grueling Alaskan race, the Iditarod.
Dr. Edward Jenner is the father of the modern vaccine.
Fridtjof Nansen was a Norwegian explorer honored with the 1922 Nobel Peace Prize.
