International Space Day

is the first Friday in May

International Space Day is an educational initiative, launched in 1997, to motivate youth to study math, science and all issues related to sp ace .

Launched by the Lockheed Martin Corporation in 1997 as Space Day and expanded to International Space Day by John Glenn in 2001, this internationally recognized initiative has been honored with the Space Foundation's prestigious Education Achievement Award.
