Abraham Lincoln

by Matthew from Clarksville

A hero is someone who can fly and save the day. There are so many definitions of what someone may think a hero is. I think that a hero is a person who you can look up to. Someone who you might want to be like someday.

In the 1800s a lot of people owned other people, they called these people slaves. But many people did not support slavery and wanted to abolish it. One of these people was Abraham Lincoln. My hero is Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln accomplished many issues in his life. He abolished slavery and he kept the United States from splitting apart during the Civil War. He wrote many inspiring speeches such as the Gettysburg Address.

Abraham Lincoln did many things in his life and inspired many people. That is why he is my role model. That is why he is my hero.
