abraham lincoln

My hero is Abraham Lincoln because he fought for the abolition of slavery. He is remembered for his vital role as a leader and for preserving the union during the Civil War.

He was president on November 6, of 1856. He was the 16th president of the United States. He was born on February 12,1809 in a log carbin in Harbin. Lincoln was raised to do farm work.

In 1816 Lincoln moved to Indiana. Lincoln’s mother died in 1818 and one year later his father married with Sarah Bush Johnston. She proved a good kind of mother. In 1930 Lincoln left Indiana for Illinois. Abraham did a second trip to New Orleans and in 1831 left home for New Salem. In New Salem Lincoln tried various occupations and served briefly in the black hawk war in 1832. He is my hero because he was the best president that the U.S.A had in many years.
