“I want my readers to feel, to think, sometimes to laugh. But most of all I want them to enjoy a good read.” This quote helps me understand Edward Irving's purpose in writing his stories. I really enjoy every book this author writes. Also known as Avi, this man is a huge inspiration to me my hero.

When I read his books, the messages in the books really come out and speak to me. An example of this would be Crispin, about a boy trying to search for his identity. They inspire me to keep trying in all I do.

He has won many awards including the Newbery award for his book Crispin, the Christopher Award for Encounter at Easton, the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award for Poppy. This book is about a mouse and his family that want to move next to a field but a hungry owl lives nearby. If you want to find out what happens, read the book.

I always enjoy reading the books that Avi has written. I never want to put his books down. I was on the edge of my seat throughout all of his books. Whether you are reading Crispin or Poppy you will always enjoy reading his books. I hope that some day you will read his phenomenal books!
