Did you know one of the most successful men on earth dropped out of college and is now one of the richest people on earth? Bill Gates was on the way to be a lawyer but changed for his love of computers. Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955. He began studying computers in the seventh grade at lakeside school. In 1975 he cofounded Microsoft corp. The world’s largest computer Software Company and became the youngest person to become a billionaire at the age of 31. Bill Gates is a hero, not only because of his success in life, but because he donates hundreds of millions of dollars to charity each year.

Bill Gates shows his hard working attribution in many ways. For Bill it was hard working and also some brain power.”…Microsoft acquired the right to licenses the 86-DOS that Seattle computer had developed, he renamed it MS-DOS and offered a deal to IBM...” (Discovering Biography). Bill Gates was able to work a mixture of hard and brain. He knew that the software was almost good enough on its own. He just needed to add a language package to sell it to IBM. He used his hard working ability to work out a deal with the Seattle computer company. All of his hard work eventually paid off. “At the age of 31 he was the youngest person to become a billionaire.”(Discovery bibliography). Bill Gates has worked very hard in what he does, so much that he dropped out of Harvard to develop his software. During his time working in 1978 to 1984 he worked every day and only took a total of two weeks of vacation.

Bill Gates also shows generous qualities. Now that he worked very hard he has his own foundation that he started with his wife. “Their foundation has endowed more than 28 billion, with donations totaling more than a billion each year.”(Discovery bibliography). Bill already has a huge spending limit. He generously donates enormous amounts of money towards helpful organizations. He could have easily kept that money to benefit his company or himself, but Bill knew that other people were in greater need of the money than him. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has many focuses but the main one is the innovations in health and learning to the global community. They aim to help the overall community. They want to help every person not just a few here and there.

Bill Gates is a hero, not only because of his success in life, but because he donates hundreds of millions of dollars to charity each year. He worked six years straight every day and by 2001 he endowed 28 billion dollars for philanthropic causes. He inspires me because he took something he loved and turned it into a career and with the profits he makes he always gives a huge portion to better help humanity. Bill Gates is a hero because of how much time and money he has given to help out the global community.
