Ben Carson's "Gifted Hands"

I read Dr Ben Carson's book "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story" when i was 15 years old with no hope of ever making it out of my country. The story of his life was an inspiration for me. I learned through his story to never give up, and fight to accomplish my dreams no matter what everybody says. Now I live here in the US and I am striving to become a bio-informatician and graduate from the John Hopkins University just as Dr. Ben Carson did.

"Thinking big" means opening our horizons, reaching for new possibilities in our lives, being open to whatever God has in store for us on the road ahead. "The expression is another way of restating one of my mother's favorite sayings, when I was struggling in school, teased by classmates," says Dr. Ben Carson. "'You can do anything they can do,' she would say. 'Only you must try to do it better.'" Those are the words I took as part of myself, the hope I found reading the words of Dr Ben carson is miraculous. Even now that I am starting college people still tell me that I am not smart enough to become a doctor but if I THINK BIG, with my faith in GOD, I know I can do it.
