Jose Ballivian

A hero is an ordinary person who is appealing to others in a way that makes that person extraordinary. All heroes have different qualities such as helpful, loyal, and respectful. They’re important to all different people. Heroes are role models. Jose Ballivian was a dedicated hero in Bolivia who will never be forgotten.


Jose Ballivian was born into a rich family in La Paz, Bolivia. He joined the Spanish army and defended his country when Peru tried to invade. After losing the election, Jose Fled to Peru. Ballivian is known as Bolivia’s second Great Liberator. He soon began to work toward his dream of a modern Bolivia.

Ballivian worked on a broader educational system and an adequate seaports on the Pacific Ocean. In 1843 he was elected as president of Bolivia. Jose was elected as the ninth president of Bolivia. In 1848 Ballivian was not reelected and was finished running for president.

Jose Ballivian was a hero to Bolivia and had a dedicated heart. He tried to administrate and reform Bolivia. Many people may look at him as a role model and I do, too. He was respectful and caring toward others. Jose Ballivian had a thoughtful mind.

As a result, a hero is an ordinary person who is appealing to others in a way that makes that person extraordinary. Even though his time has passed, Bolivia’s people and I will never forget Jose Ballivian. Jose is a hero in many eyes.
