Most heroes are adults, but my hero is only eight years old, and her name is Bindi Irwin. She is the daughter of 'The Crocodile Hunter,' Steve Irwin.

Bindi was born on July 24, 1998. Bindi's full name is Bindi Sue Irwin. She was named after Steve's little dog. She is the daughter of Steve and Terri Irwin, and the sister of Robert, also know as Bob.

Bindi is now on many television shows like, Bindi the Jungle Girl. Bindi will not be the only one in this show; her late father will appear with her from other films. Bindi is already getting used to being in the public eye. She has also made many speeches about wildlife.

"I'm trying to get across the message that don't be afraid of animals. They're just put on earth to help the environment and things like that," says Bindi, and just like her father, she is fearless. "Some people think that I would be afraid of them, but I'm never ever afraid of an animal," said Bindi.

"Bindi is an amazing little girl," says her grandfather, Bob Irwin. "She's a real professional. The thing about Bindi is she seems to enjoy it."

But on September 4, 2006, her father died from a bull ray's (type of stingray)barb that went through his heart. The death was depressing for his family, but they are slowly recovering. Bindi is still doing the television show Bindi the Jungle Girl, and is still fighting strong to get her father's message out.
