Definition of “Hero” (Mine)

1: Any person who ever does anything that will benefit the people around them in a good way can be a hero. 2: A person who is willing to sacrifice some of their time to help someone else or make someone else feel good.

I think my father is a hero because he has always been a role model to me, and I look up to him. He is my role model because he runs his own business and still finds time to fulfill the roles of a good parent. He is devoted to his family and I think that being devoted to family is very important. I think this because I grew up in a large family and I personally could not imagine life without any of them. He also found time within his busy schedule to earn and keep the respect of his eight children and his employees. While doing all this he has been giving up his summer weekends for the past few years to finish building our cottage and still managed to find time for his hobby (running).

I think he is a hero because he is devoted to his family; his office has been at home as long as I can remember. With his office at home he never misses a meal with the family. He has always been able to balance the time he spends on his business and his family. I also look up to him because he has no plans of retiring at the age of 52. He has also been glad to help with homework when I was younger and should have a prize for terrible puns.

STORY TIME!!!

I remember when I was very little he would pretend to have fallen asleep on the kitchen floor, we would all do things like try to wake him up, climb all over him and “borrow” the contents of his pockets. The thing was that doing these things was hard because he would keep his eyes open enough that we couldn’t tell they were open but he could see where we were so he could easily do things like tickle us and guard his pockets. He later started removing the contents of his pockets before he lay down on the floor. Now he plays the same game with his grandchildren. The End!

STORY TIME #2!!!

Once, we decided to have a party for dad, just because we felt like it. We told him that it was "Dad appreciation day" and we all dressed up in plaid shirts and gave ourselves mustaches to be the 8 boys he wished he had. He said he preferred us as girls, but it was fun. We even had a competition to see who could draw the best picture of dad in crayons! mine looked more like Al of "Home Improvement" than dad. The End!

I think he is a hero because he managed to raise 8 children (7 were girls), run a business and build a cottage without losing his sanity. Which I think is a great accomplishment. He is also my hero because he is awesome.
