My dad David Prestwich is awesome. He always cares for me. He even decided to coach my hockey team. He is my hero because he will always try to help me no matter what it is.
My dad is from a family of 5 kids - 3 girls and 2 boys. He has 3 sons, Tim, Andrew, me, and one daughter Hilary. He was born on March 5th in Oldham, England. He moved from England when he was seven. So he went to school in Canada. His elementary school was Saint Margaret's and his high school was St Michael's College. He went to two Universities and they were University of Toronto and York University. My dad got married on September 6th. When he was about my age he and his friends found an old sandbox and tried to sail it down the Don River. Unfortunately it sank like a submarine. They lit a fire at the side of the river to dry their clothes. People saw them from the highway.

My Dads influence was my Grandad. He always had had time to do things with him, like fishing. That's a good influence because it made him a really good dad too. My grandad also taught him to try to do things right the first time. When he moved over here from England he faced some obstacles. He was picked on at school because of his accent. I think it would be difficult to move to another country and leave all of your friends behind. He overcame these obstacles because eventually he lost his accent and he was smart so he did well in school.

He has many achievements. One achievement is his hockey team winning the OMHA championship 3 years in a row. He also coached kids hockey for years. My dad also has a very successful career. He is the C.O.O of a large financial services corporation. He chose this career after having a summer job in that business.

The character traits that my dad shows are caring because he always loves me. He also shows responsibility because he looks after me and he also works very hard. A good example of how my dad cares for me is when he comes home after a hard day's work and tired and stressed, he will still play with me. THAT is caring!
My dad influences me to be a great dad when I have a kid, for example, showing me how to care and play with him. He also inspires me to always try my best in hockey and in everything else I do. He is a great coach because he helps his team to play better.
In conclusion, my dad is my hero, my ministicks partner, sandcastle building buddy, my fishing friend and best of all, my dad.
