Terry Fox

Terry Fox was born July 28 1958 in Winnipeg. He went to school at Port Coquitlam High School and he also went to Simon Fraser University. Terry's family names were: Rolly was his dad, Betty was his mom, Fred was his brother Darrell was his other brother and Judith was his sister. Terrys special intrerests where to play basketball and to run across Canada to help people that have cancer just like him.

Terry's challenges were that he had cancer in his right knee but he didn`t know until the doctor told him. He was told he had to have surgery. Terry had bone cancer. His inspiration was Dick Traum. Dick ran the marathon in new york on one leg. His heros were Darryl Sittler and Bobby Orr.

Terry ran so that he could go get money to help kids and adults that have cancer to help the hospitals buy new machines so that they can help people that have cancer get better. He wanted people that have cancer help other people that have cancer get better so it will go on forever and ever. Terry Fox was trying to make the world a better place by running for cancer so they can live ther lives and help others.

Terry Fox died on June 28 1981. Terry Fox died at very young age. He died when he was 22. After Terry Fox died his family carried on the Marathon of Hope so that other people could help people that have cancer just like Terry Fox did.

Terry fox is my hero because when he had cancer he helped other people that have cancer to save their lives so they could live their lives. He had to fight cancer to help other people's lives. He ran halfway across and risked his life to help others.
