At first he was trained under the guidance of the elder brother, Johann Christoph Bach, and school cantors, then at school at St. Michael's church in Luneburg.
By 17 years he owned a harpsichord, a violin, an alto, an organ and sang in the choir. Since his early years Bach felt a calling to develop his art in the field of music, indefatigably studying both at home and under the North German masters, such as Johann Pachelbel, I. Leve, Georg Bohm and Johann Reincken, to develop the improvisation which was the basis of its composer's skill.
Bach took part in the concerts of a court chapel known for the French tastes in Cello, had access to rich collections of the Italian masters stored in school library, at last, during numerous visits to Hamburg could get acquainted with the local opera.
I love his masterpieces – the Toccata and the Fugue. He played them on an organ.
