Some people may think that famous people are selfish and all they care about is themselves and their career. I don’t believe this is true about my hero. Some famous people are selfless like my hero, John Lennon.

Half the people I know don’t know who he is, and think that he hasn’t done anything to help our country. This is not true though and I hope someday people will appreciate him and care that he helped people in the world. John Lennon was born in Liverpool, U.K on October 9, 1940. He was a talented singer, songwriter, artist and peace activist. He was most known for the years he spent with the band The Beatles. He was married twice and has two sons. He was murdered one night in December of 1980 when returning from a recording session.

Throughout his short life, John Lennon donated thousands of dollars to charity. He also fought for peace and to stop wars. This was his passion in life and that is why he wrote the song, “All You Need is Love.” He created a charity for that song so that all of the proceeds would go towards it. He also had fun when working with charities. He shaved his head in 1970 to raise money for another charity. He still has many people donating to charities because he was someone that they looked up to. Today, The Beatles that are still alive are continuing his efforts that he established.

As you can see my hero, John Lennon, has helped and done wonderful things. He has inspired me, and has helped our country in so many ways.
