Michael Jordan is the most well known sports athlete, and leading scored in the NBA. He was one of the best players in the sport of basketball. He had an average of 28.6 points a game. He lead the Chicago bulls to many NBA championships. He has also been a member of the U.S. olympic team.

My hero is Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York and then raised in North Carolina in a city called Wilmington. He was cut from his Jr. High team but he didn’t give up. He practiced all the time. He took a basket ball scholar ship to UNC and scored the winning basket in an NCAA final championship. Michael Jordan led the NBA in scoring for 7 years and he was the second person, after the player named Wilt Chamberlain, to score 3000 points in a single season. When he was on the Bull’s he averaged 30 points every game. Michael Jordan was on the U.S.A. Dream team and won a gold medal in the Olympics.

Michael Jordan retired during the 93-93 because he “lost interest” in the sport. Since he retired, he decided to play minor league baseball. He was signed by the Chicago White socks. He batted a .202 average. It wasn’t the best, but he soon raised it to .252. after a year of retirement he decided to come back and play for the bulls once again. The Bulls then became the first NBA team to win 70 games in a season, and they went on to the NBA and won a championship title. During the NBA finals, Jordan was named MVP, becoming the first player to earn this title four times.

Michael Jordan is a survivor in what he does. If he would’ve quit basketball because he was cut from his team because he wasn’t good enough, he wouldn’t have become such a great player. But since he didn’t give up, he was able to become a famous and very good player in his sport of basketball.

Michael Jordan was one of the best players of this sport. He was only able to do this because he didn't give up when he was cut. He has come back to basketball twice because he missed it. This makes people wonder if he will ever quit.
