Martin Luther King, Jr.

My story is about a man who stood up for his rights. He was a man that believed in freedom. He wanted everyone to have their own rights. He wanted everyone to be equal. This man had a lot of integrity. He is one of the reasons why African American people are able to walk within the same community as white people today. He was very brave.

The reason I am writing this is to tell people that I am very proud to say that I [consider this man a hero]. He did his very best to bring equality into the world. The world is a much better place because of him. His asassination outraged people. They didn't expect this to happen at all. This great man of God got shot. There have been singers that have sung about him, such as Teddy Pendergrass and Stevie Wonder. They admired Martin Luther King, Jr. He didn't just do good for African Americans. He accomplished good works for the whole world. He gave the world a whole new idea of what was called racism. We owe this man great respect. He's the reason why we can pick up the phone and not worry about being harassed by those of a different race. We can go places with different colored people.

He paid a price for all he did for this nation.
