So what do you think about a woman who survived cancer? You may think it is nothing. People all over the world survive cancer every day, so their survival seems like nothing special. My hero is Judi Langburt. Determined, she survived and still went on to live a normal life. Her bravery and strength drove her to overcome cancer and start a group to raise money to find a cure for cancer. Judy Langburt is my close family friend and a great person. She really is a hero.

Judi Langburt has not only overcome breast cancer but is a co-founder of a group called HBOC, Hereditary Breast Ovarian Cancer Foundation. This group raises awareness about breast cancer. Judi fought cancer when she was sick and she is still fighting it today. The group raised over 100 000 dollars and gave it for research to try and find a cure for cancer. She is a true hero in my heart.

Judi Langburt attended Hebrew Academy Elementary School and Herzliah High School. Judi graduated from McGill and Concordia Universities. She has a Masters Degree in Business. Judi married Michael Langburt in 1990, a devoted husband who was with her and supported her while she was sick. Judi is also a mother to three children, Ellisha, Dylan and the youngest, Olivia. Judi is a mother that stays at home and takes care of her children and helps and supports them all the way. Her hobbies are lifting weights, doing yoga and playing tennis to be in shape and stay healthy.

Judi Langburt is important to me because cancer is one of the most deadly things out there in the world. Most people die from or are never able to beat this horrible disease. It is days and years of suffering pain you can’t get rid of. You have to be strong mentally and physically. Judi Langburt showed me you can do anything if you are determined and believe in yourself. That is why I think Judy Langburt is a hero.
