My hero is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I picked Dr. King because of what he did. Dr King was a strong, caring person and that is why he is a hero to many people, but not only that. Dr. King stood up for himself, and many others. Dr. King hated the fact that people divided white people from black. Dr. King rebelled against this division.

Dr. King tried many different ways to help end the division, but he wasn’t the only one trying to stop it. A lady called Rosa Parks stood up for herself. When she went on the bus one day she sat in the front of the bus. Only white people were allowed to sit in the front of the bus. When the bus driver came to tell her to go to the back of the bus she said no. Rosa Parks was put in jail for what she did. She was an inspiration to many.

Dr. King then led a huge movement. This movement was called the Civil Rights movement. Thousands of people attended the movement. This was not the only very big thing he held. Dr. King held a speech called I Have a Dream. This speech was held in front of many people. Dr. King inspired many more people.

Dr. Martin Luther King’s children supported him. They also rebelled against the division. In part of I Have a Dream speech Dr. King said how he wanted his children to be treated the same as other white children. His children, and his wife were devoted to stop the division.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. eventually stopped the division. Dr. King was assassinated on April 4 1968. Dr. King’s wife and children supported him all the way through the division, and stopped it. Dr. King was a great person and is still admired today.
