Martin Luther King Jr.

by Nathaniel from Bradford

You can't ride on a man's back unless it is bent.

Martin Luther King Jr was one of the most inspirational men because his act for the civil rights movement for the rights of African Americans.

Martin Luther King Jr. was born on Tuesday January 15 1929 in Atlanta Georgia. He went to a variety of different schools. For example Morehouse College, Lincoln University, Howard University and many more. His name at birth was Michael King after his father but changed it to Martin Luther King Jr.

Some of his obstacles in his life was being a black boy going to school. It was hard for him every day. He probably was bullied everyday. I wonder how hard it was for him to live as an African American boy back then. One of the people he admired as an influence was a man named Benjamin E. Mays, a Morehouse College president and well known scholar of black religion. The influence of Mays inspired King to become a minister.

The actions King made in his life was the act for civil rights of African American people. Another example is the Montgomery bus boycott that Rosa Parks started. Some of the achievements he made was at university's and colleges. He won many awards like doctorates. He also was the first black man to win the Nobel Peace prize for his civil rights movement.

King showed a variety of characters traits. For example, courage. He displayed courage because he spoke against discrimination. He also displayed inclusiveness, he showed inclusiveness because he wanted to include everyone and not judge them by their skin colour. And those are some of the character traits he showed.

He influences are because he is a great inspiration to me and makes me want to do good things in life and fulfill my dreams and so I can do good in my life.

Martin Luther King was one of the great men in the world that made a difference in the world and his name will forever be in the history books and people will read about him through the ages and see how inspiring he was to everyone.
