| Maddy age 2 (My photo album) |
Madison is my very special rare 11year-old white lab. As a young pup she was abused.
Most times we underestimate dogs. Not just my family but maybe you too, if you think about it. If you have a pet dog, every time it barks you probably tell it to be quiet because it's not always important. Well, same here.
Madison finally learned to stay at my property - until my mom brought home a 78-pound bad bundle of joy. Candice is a 2 and half year-old Yellow Lab, mixed with a Bloodhound. Well let's talk about the star of the story. Madison isn't just a pet. She's a hero and best friend. Read more and I'll explain why.
Once brisk winter night about 6:00, a woman who just moved to New Jersey was meeting a friend and drove to Quaker Road. She went a little fast going up Joe Ent Road. She flipped over when she hit the ditch and the front of her car smashed into the telephone pole. Panicking while trying to unbuckle her seat, belt she couldn't. Luckily she could open the window while dangling from the seat. Maddy kept barking at the door. My mom told me to let her out so I did. She darted around the house to the other side with me chasing her. Right there I saw the car. While Madison was barking at the window where I saw the woman. I told her I'd call the police. Sure enough I dialed 911, listened to the dial tone thinking they'd never pick up! They asked me a bunch of question that I didn't understand and then my mom asked, "Who are you talking to?" I told her the police. She said, "Is there a good reason why?" I told her. She ran outside with her coat. The police came and said to me, "Thank you." I said, "Don't thank me, thank Maddy." They did by giving her a milk bone.
Another time, Madison tried helping us by telling my dad a terrible message, with 1 hour of barking, banging, and clattering noises coming from the driveway. My thought that it was my brother and his friends. He was wrong and it was someone who first was startled when seeing through a locked glass door a white lab growling, snapping, and jumping. That time was like another my dad didn't listen but I did scared out of my wits. The second time that my dad didn't listen, my dad and other person paid the price. A man broke into our house. My dad lost $40 and the man has been scarred for life. This is why my dog is my hero. She makes me feel safe and happy. When I'm scared, she'll trot over and lay her head on my lap. When I'm lonely, she'll come and play. When I'm with her, I know I'm safe.
