Princess Diana

by Cassie and Nicole

Princess Diana, originaly Lady Diana Spencer, was born on July 1 1961,in Norfolk,England. She grew up in her family mansion in Sandringham,England. When she was six her parents divorced, and while her two big sisters were in boarding school she and her little brother spent the next several years between their parents homes. She married Prince Charles on July 29,1981,and the two had two sons William and Henry. The marrige however did not last, and the two divorced in 1996.Diana herself was killed in a car accident on August 31,1997 at the age of 36.

Princess Diana was generous. She always was donating to many different charities, and at one point was actively supporting 110 charities. In June of 1997 she auctioned off 79 of her own evening gowns. In that night alone she earned more than 5.7 million dollars and gave it all to AIDS and cancer research.

Princess Diana was loving. She'd travled thousands of miles a year just to support her favorite causes. Attempting to ban and inform people about the dangers of land-mines. Diana went to places such as Angola and the former Yugoslavia on behalf the International Campaign to Ban Land-mines. She also loved her sons very much. She liked to take them with her on her trips,so that they could see that there was a world outside the palace walls.

Princess Diana was respected. She was known as a "Queen of Peoples Hearts" even though after her divorce with Prince Charles she was no longer considered to be royalty. When she died people from not only England, but the entire world, came to Buckingham Palace,Kensington Palace,St.James Palace(where her body was being kept) and her familie's estate just so they could bring her flowers and pay their respects.

This is all the proof we need to say that Princess Diana was a hero. She was loving, generous, and respected. All of which are good qualities that show how she was a hero.
