Jonas Paulavicius

Bob Dylan once quoted, “A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom.” A hero is a person who will always be responsible and will keep on trying to accomplish his goals. Heroes are admired for their courage. They are an inspiration to people around the world. Jonas Paulavicius was a Lithuanian hero because he saved many lives.

Jonas Paulavicius was born on June 7, 1897. He lived in Kovno, Lithuania with his daughter, Danute, and his son. During WWII, Jonas hid escaped Jewish prisoners in his home. He risked his life for all of those prisoners. This man was shot and killed by an antisemitic Lithuanian. He was assassinated in 1950.

Jonas Paulavicius was selfless and committed. He was also a risk taker. These qualities define him because he wasn’t selfish and he was committed to helping people. Risking his life to save them was dangerous. Saving lives is something everyone will remember of him.

In conclusion, a hero is admired for his/her courage. Heroes are an inspiration everywhere. Jonas Paulavicius was a hero from Lithuania because he saved many lives during WWII. He was a man of many qualities. Heroes are people that should be remembered.
