Did you know that 12 years ago Susan Powell lost her eyesight to diabetes? She had to switch over careers from a hairstylist to a licensed massage therapist because of her disability. More people should try and take life more serious because you will never know when something should happen and you lose something that you need in life. Susan Powell lost her eyesight to diabetes, but that doesn’t matter.
She went back to school and became a licensed registered massage therapist. My hero that I am doing is Susan Powell. I don’t I do know that just 12 years ago Susan Powell lost the battle to diabetes, but not death. Susan lost her eyesight instead. She didn’t let that stop her from still doing the things that she wanted to do in life. Instead of pouting, Susan went back to school and became a licensed massage therapist. She gives massages at Kutz Spa De Da in Anderson Twp.
She still works on some of her old clients from when she was a hairstylist. At first Susan without a bit of confidence in herself, but now she says “I don’t focus on so much what the textbook said, but rather by Institution and Touch”. Now that she has her guide dog, Albany, at her side. She also stated “I loved working in a hair salon, so being around the same people is real enjoyable,” she said.
The type of hero that I think Susan Powell would be is a “Hero from near and far”. I say that because she gave herself into massaging and soothing other peoples troubles. She’ s a “Hero from near and far”, because when people see that a blind lady can give you an excellent massage and make you feel good, they would be shocked and surprised. The last type of hero that she is, is a “Hero for all times”, because if somebody were too lose their eyesight like Susan Powell did, they would probably be glad to know that they could still have another chance like Susan did. So that maybe one day they could be successful also.
In conclusion Susan Powell was one of those people who at the same time survived diabetes and but too lost something valuable, her eyesight.
