Do you know who Robert Goddard is? If you do not, he is a rocket scientist. He was the chief American researcher into rocketry. In 1930, the research went forward in the United States, Germany, and Russia. He lived from October 5, 1882, to August 10,1945. When he died he was 63 years of age. The reason that made him want to become a rocket scientist was in his childhood. In his childhood he was very interested in mechanical things.
He was very interested in 1898 with the publication of the novel "War of the Worlds" by H.G. Wells. He spent the rest of his life dreaming about, and working for, the space flight machine.
A man that helped Robert Goddard succeed in many things was Oberth. Robert Goddard was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. The schools he attended were Worcester Poly Technic Institute and Clark University. Also, at Clark University he earned his doctorate.
Now that I think about it, my life is better because Robert Goddard inspired me. In a laboratory test in 1925, a liquid-fueled rocket operated satisfactorily, and on March 16, 1926, the world's first liquid-fueled rocket took place on a farm near Auburn, Massachusetts. He worked hard and kept trying to achieve even a brief lift off.
