Rosa Parks

by Autumn from Quakertown, New Jersey

At the time I was arrested I had no idea it would turn into this. It was just a day like any other day. The only thing that made it significant was that the masses of the people joined in.

My hero is Rosa Parks. Here are some reasons she is my hero. This is a story about Rosa Parks. It is one of my favorites.

She had a long day and got on the bus. She sat in the front of the bus. Then a person got on the bus and told her to move, but she refused. She had every right to refuse to move. We are all people and deserve to have equal rights. Then the bus driver called the police and they took her away.

She inspires me every day. She just wanted to help all people of color. I respect that. She was nice as a person and as a leader to others. I think she is a lot of people’s hero, including parents and children. I hope I can become something like her one day. That’s why she is my hero and a hero to others too.
