Sylvia Lawry was born in 1915 in Brooklyn. She had at one time been in Hunter College with the hopes of becoming a lawyer. Soon after that, her brother, Bernard, began experiencing symptoms of MS. It was then that she found her real passion.

Sylvia founded the National MS Society and also made MS more widely known. She also founded the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation.

Sylvia Lawry is deceased. She was born in Brooklyn to her parents, Jacob and Sophie Friedman. She had three brothers and sisters.

Sylvia was born in 1915 and was born in Brooklyn. She died at the age of 85 in Manhattan.

Sylvia Lawry is important to me because my own father has MS. It has made our lives very difficult. By establishing the National MS Society, Sylvia has made it known to millions of people, myself included, that there are people who know exactly what my family is going through. They also help us realize that there are people looking for the cure. We know that we aren't alone.
