Sigurdur Petursson

by Adam from Philadelphia

"He's called 'the Iceman' because he isn't scared of anything," -Reynir Traustason

Sigurdur Petursson was over watching his crew processing a catch on the Icelandic trawler Erik the Red when he saw a 300kg Great White shark swimming towards them. No, he does not lift up his skirt and run away like a little girl, he rips his shirt off and jumps in the water. He drags the shark to shore with his bare hands, and guts it with his rusty knife. He saved >50 lives that day. Wow.
