Spencer Stone

I chose Spencer Stone or "the hero of the Thalys". Spencer Stone is a soldier of the U.S Armed Forces. He's 23 years old and he grew up in Sacramento in USA. Spencer Stone is a very courageous man and he is certainly one of the most courageous man.

Let me tell you about his story: On 8 October 2015, Spencer Stone and 2 friends were onboard the train from Amsterdam to Paris. But in this train, there was also an armed gunman who wanted to do a massacre Two other men attempted to disarm the gunman but they were seriously injured. Then the gunman was overpowered by the 3 friends. Spencer immediately got up to charge the guy and they restrained the gunman. Spencer has been very courageous, is the bravest man and through his act, he saved more than 550 persons and he was hurt: several cuts, a fractured finger and injury to his right eye. He received the Legion of Honour from France.

He is very important for me because my 19 years old cousin was in the Thalys train and if Spencer had not stopped the terrorist, my cousin would be dead and he said: "He is an hero, he saved my life" and he is very grateful to him.
