A hero is anyone who affects a person in a certain way or makes a difference in their life. That person could be young or old, rich or poor, famous or unknown. In my case, my hero happens to be my best friend, Shara. She is the one person that I can completely rely on and trust.
I met Shara three years ago during my first day at my new high school, Taft. I was new in school and didn't know anybody. Shara immediately made me feel welcome and comfortable in my new school. We became friends right away. After a week, I felt like I had been friends with her my entire life. After only being friends for a month, she was already one of the most important people in my life.
Shara did many things for me in the past three years that makes her my hero. She is like a sister to me and I consider her one my family members. We never spend a weekend without seeing each other and we're not sick of each other yet. She was the one that motivated me to try harder in school. Before I started high school at Taft, I was a bad student. When I met Shara, she helped me try harder and she helped me out with the subjects I had trouble with. She is very determined and responsible, and she helps me set goals. Shara has also been there for me in the times when I needed a friend most. She has been there for me when I needed her and she has always provided the support I needed when I was upset.
Shara has helped me understand life better. Since we spent most of our teenage years together, we learned many things together. We've been through so much and experienced so much that I feel like we are family. I feel like if I never met her, I can not imagine what my life would have been like. She transformed me into a different person.
Many high school friendships don't last after graduation. I know that Shara and I will still be best friends for many years to come. She is very important in my life and I feel blessed to have met her. I will never have another friend like her.
