Thomas Edison the greatest inventor of his age was central to all these developments light, the telegraph, the phonograph and the light bulb.
Thomas Edison was born in 1847. He is from Milan, Ohio. In his family there were six children, he was the youngest.
When he was 10 years old he set up his own workshop in the basement of his family’s house. When Thomas Edison was aged about 14 he noticed that the oil lamps in the streets of London in the 1850’s had to be refilled regularly. Tom decided to invent light. He married Mary Stillwell in 1871 and they had three children.
Thomas Edison is important to me because he was an inquirer, he was always asking questions and he worked hard to make life better. I can be more like Edison if I ask lots of questions and learn more.
