TERRY FOX was born in 1958. When he turned 18, he had to amputate his leg He always wore "Terry Fox Marathon of Hope" t-shirts while he was running. When he was young, he lived in the Fox household. He had 2 brothers and 1 sister. There were 4 kids in total. In his school he tried out for basketball. His coach said he was too short to play but he tried cross country. He inspired me to write this story because he ran half of Canada just to raise money for cancer. "Somehow the hurting must stop" he said while he was running. Dick Trum inspired Terry to run across Canada because Dick Trom ran across New York with only one leg. Here are some fun facts about Terry: he was in a opening ceremony of a soccer game, he met the mayor of Ontario and raised more than $10,000,000! Terry was very passionate about cancer and nice to others. Terry Fox is a great Canadian hero!
