My hero is Terry Fox because he lifted a nation with his courage and determination.

Terry Fox had cancer and it ate away at his right leg so he had to get it amputated in 1977. When Terry was in the hospital, he saw how the cancer patients were suffering. This is why he decided to run across Canada and raise awareness of the disease and funds for cancer research. The run was called the Marathon of Hope. He trained for this run for 18 months and he started on April 12th, 1980 at St. John’s, Newfoundland. Terry Fox was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and was raised in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Terry’s parents are Betty and Rolly.

I wonder if anybody else will continue what Terry left off. This is why Terry Fox is my (and everybody else’s) hero. Terry Fox will be remembered for a long time.
