Thomas W. Goodman

by Chance from Godley

My hero is Thomas Wayne Goodman. He is a police officer of North Richland Hills, Texas. He has put away a good many of child-related criminals. He is just retiring so this is why I decided to do my hero report on him. He worked and protected the children of Tarrant County.

My hero is still alive of course because I talk to him on a daily basis. He currently lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas. He has been a police officer for almost twenty-three years, and a detective for the past eleven years. His primary job now is to work crimes committed by or against kids. He has specialized training from the F.B.I. in computer forensics. This allows him to search computers to find illegal files on the hard drives, even when the owner thinks they wiped their computer clean.

When he is not working he loves to ride horses and taught me how to ride. He occasionally goes out to the shooting range and taught me how to fire a gun. Our favorite gun to shoot is the AR-15. We don’t get along sometimes and he annoys me to death sometimes, but we get along most of the time.

He is important to me because he has been with me all my life and taught me a lot of things. He’s my dad. Surprised? My mom and dad have always been the best of loving parents, and I hope I get to have them in my life for quite a while longer.

He taught me how to ride horses, how to compete in rodeos, how to shoot, to be extremely careful with any gun, took me out to hunt, gave me a good life here in Godley. He is the best and only dad I could ever I ask for and I hope he stays for quite a while more. I hope everybody’s family is as good as my family is to me. He has always had good in his heart. Sure, he does get on my nerves, but he has always cared for his whole family and taken care of all us as best he could, and he’s doing a good job.
