Tory

My cousin Tory is not only a hero to me, but he is also like the big brother I have never had. He has many heroic character traits such as being responsible, independent, dependable, and most importantly, a great son to his mother. Tory has signed up for the United States Marine Corp, which inspires me to volunteer more in my community. My cousin inspires me to work my hardest to achieve and look for the positive in everything.

When anyone in his family or friends needs help or is in trouble, he does his best to protect and help them. One night, Tory was at home and received a call from his brother, Derek. Derek needed a ride because his friend was drinking and he didn’t want to take the chance. Tory said, “sure”, and went off to pick up his brother and his brother’s friend. This is one example of how incredibly sensitive and kind he is to his family and friends.

My cousin has made a difference in my life and millions around the world by volunteering in the Marines Corp. The United States Marines Corp (USMC) is a branch of the US armed forces and it is responsible for keeping our country safe. The USMC has about 203,000 active duty Marines, and just less than 40,000 reserve Marines. The USMC is responsible for combined arm task force on air, land, and sea. Tory is going into the Marine reserves, which is a safer “part-time or sub” Marine. With my cousin going into the Marines, I have been inspired to do more for my community and more for my country.

Not only is Tory an inspiring role model, but he also does things for other people. Going into the Marines, and helping out his brother in times of trouble, are only a couple of the many deeds he has done throughout his life. Most importantly, my cousin does the things he does not for credit, he does it out of the goodness of his heart.
