Ty Pennington

My hero is Ty Pennington, from Extreme Home Makeover Edition. Ty was born in Atlanta, Georgia on October 19th. He is a carpenter and interior designer. In 2000 TY joined a improvement cable series trading spaces. Three years later he earned his own network show called Extreme Home Makeover Edition.

Ty started this show because he wanted to get a community together and help out the people in need. Most of the families that Ty helps have a lot of problems in their family and have a community hero in their family. Ty says it's all about the joy of doing things for others, families and random acts of kindness.

Ty and his dream team take on a project that would normally take several months and they do it in 7 days. From the moment Ty screams good morning through a megaphone he is bent on bringing the neighbourhood together to help out and rebuild an entire house for a family in need. Each episode of Extreme Home Makeover Edition features a family that has faced someone going through hardships such as a natural disaster or a family member with a life- threatening illness.

I chose Ty as my hero because he has touched the hearts of thousands of people and everytime his dream team gets together with workers and the community to rebuild a house, he makes the family more grateful and loving towards each other and the community more grateful for what they have.
