Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow is one of today's best football hero's in the NFL who not only is skilled on the field, but also is a passionate player for GOD in his everyday life. Tim Tebow was born in Manila, Philippines, but almost wasn't born at all when the doctors suggested abortion. Those doctors said the baby would be too weak to survive in the real world. His parents refused and Timothy Richard Tebow was later born on August 14, 1987. He was homeschooled up until high school. At that time they were living in Gainesville, Florida where he went to Nease High School. Tim got requests from 63 different colleges to play football. He narrowed it down to Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida Gators. Tim thought and thought and said, "Well. I play offence and Alabama doesn't have a great offence so I'll pick Florida for their great offence." Tim was a GREAT football quarterback for the Gators and won 2 BCS championships, witch is the end of the year game just like the Super Bowl for the NFL. His post college career took him to the NFL's Denver Broncos as a back-up quarterback.

Tim is not just dedicated to his place as a pro football star, but he has dedicated his life to his family and most importantly to his faith in Christ Jesus. For example, the " Tebow ", as it is popularly called , is just Tim praying after a touchdown, an interception, or before and after games. Some fans thought that it was great while others criticized him for making public displays of his Christianity. Either way he was dedicated to God, not the fans, although he knows that respecting his fans is always important. Some might not agree on his Christian beliefs, but he lives out his faith on and off the field no matter what. His family is extremely important to Tim, even his older brother is his agent. He really shows his dedication to the game, especially to Coach John Fox, through his hard working attitude at practice and at games. Tim is a dedicated Christian man with a passion for football.

Dedication isn't the only quality of Tim's, but he has always been very determined in most everything he does. Like the times when he was young, when his brothers told him he would never be good enough to be a pro football quarterback. He wouldn't listen to his brothers and said to himself, " They can't tell me what I can and can't do." That made him work even harder when he got to college to catch the eyes of the scouts looking for great players for their teams. Then as he got his way into the pro league he worked even more hard to become a quarterback. Tim really proves that you don't need others to tell you what you're able to do or not do, especially towards his brothers.

Through Tim's and my eyes , I think his hard work has really paid off in the long run. He really proves this in a book I read entitled Will To Win by Mike Klis. Mr. Klis really points out the dedication and determination to God and football itself. Tebow is known for sharing his faith in Christ wherever he goes- clinics, orphanages, schools, churches, market places, and hospitals. It's not just these kind of places that he models his faith, but if you have seen Tebow on the field, you have seen how he shows shows his passion for God there too- away or at home. I picked Timothy Tebow as my hero for his titanic ways of living his life from his hard working attitude on the field and at home with God.
